At one of my many thrifty outings, I found this frame buried at GoodWill for 3 bucks. It was just plain wood, so I jazzed it up a bit with some white acrylic paint and some distressing (which I also love to do). Then I spray painted the glass in the frame with some random color of spray paint, just to give it some texture. And then topped it off with a couple coats of chalkboard paint. I placed it on an easel (which I also got at GoodWill), and tada! My little inspirational chalkboard!
I wrote "relax..." on there to remind myself to take a chill pill once in a while. I am sure my husband can vouch for that! What can I say? I'm a mom to a toddler who gets a little stressed.
I just know there are many more uses of chalkboard paint. Please share some of your creative ways you used chalkboard paint. I always welcome new ideas!
Very nice, I like how you painted the frame, that would look nice on my, ahem, I mean on a kitchen counter......:)
ReplyDeleteWelcome to blog world. Its fun! Just remember to be you and don't get discouraged if it takes a while to get people to find you. They will.

ReplyDeleteLove this idea! Thanks for sharing!
Oh, love the chalkboard!! :)
ReplyDeleteThis looks great. I am thinking of doing a chalkboard but was wondering about using glass as the base. What do you think are the chances of it breaking if the chalkboard was actually used frequently?

Hi, I love your chalkboard frame! We've been making chalkboard frames as well and they are a big hit! Ques for you...why did you paint the glass with reg spray paint first? We've just been using chalkboard paint on the glass. Just wondering if there is a little trick we aren't aware of.
ReplyDeleteOh and I love the three frames you have on your laundry room wall - stunning!
